Prof. Ramsés Galaz, PhD – CEO GSE Biomedical

Dr. Galaz has more than 15 years of experience in the fields of mechanical design, biomedical engineering, and manufacturing engineering. He holds 22 international patent submissions of medical devices in different areas of medicine, particularly in the Orthopedics and Cardiovascular fields. He has lectured in more than 40 international conferences and has successfully won 9 grant applications. He has been a part-time professor for 7 years teaching Biomechanics and Cardiovascular Engineering at Monterrey Tech University. He has been involved in the development of several medical devices from conceptual design all the way to finished product. Dr. Galaz is also a shareholder of ZIPTEK LLC and COO of ZIPTEK Mexico SA de CV, a company that develops bioabsorbable knotless tissue repair devices.

Cristina Sánchez – Administrator

B. International Business.
Cristina’s tasks include administrative support to our team of engineers, corporate management of all administrative tasks; maintaining a safe and secure work environment; developing personal growth opportunities; planning, monitoring, and appraising tasks; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures; payroll management, purchase order executions; planning of financial objectives by anticipating requirements; submitting information for budget preparation; scheduling expenditures; monitoring costs and analyzing variances.

Jorge Gutiérrez – Manufacturing Operations

B.Eng. Mechatronics Engineering – Tecnológico de Monterrey.
Jorge has more than 6 years of experience designing, milling, printing, scanning, assembling and testing prototypes. His experience ranges from hand machining to high-precision 5-axis machining. He is a Certified SolidWorks Associate (CSWA) designer and specializes in injection molds, thermoforming molds and micro machining.

Daniel Gómez – Design and Quality Assurance Engineer

B.Eng. Mechatronics Engineering – Tecnológico de Monterrey.
Daniel Gómez has a Degree in Mechatronics Engineering. His activities include the Design & Development of medical devices from concept to finished product. He specializes in computer aided design as well as finite element analysis of structures. He holds 22 international patent submissions alongside Dr. Galaz. He is one of the lead engineers for ZIPTEK MEXICO SA DE CV, a partner company that develops bioabsorbable knotless tissue repair devices. He is a Certified Solidworks Associate (CSWA) and Certified Solidworks Associate – Simulation (CSWA-S) for structural analysis.

José Durazo – Design and Quality Assurance Engineer

B.Eng. Mechatronics Engineering – Tecnológico de Monterrey.
José worked at Keyence Mexico Sales division for digital microscope and vision systems; he has visited more than 300 manufacturing facilities and made more than a thousand flaw detections in medical, aerospace, mechanical and electronic companies. José also designs medical devices and specializes in making 3D modeling and digital art for conceptual work.

Paola Ulacia – Design Engineer and Regulatory Affairs


B. Eng. Biomedical Engineering – Tecnológico de Monterrey.

Paola has a special interest in biomechanics, and device design. She worked as a research intern at the Movement Analysis Laboratory from the National Rehabilitation Institute in Mexico City, developing biomechanical models for the validation of new diagnostic devices. She’s participated in several medical device design projects and has a particular interest in the Cardiovascular and Orthopedic fields. 

Jose Lino Gaxiola – Design Engineer

B. Eng. Biomedical Engineering – Tecnológico de Monterrey.
José Lino worked as an intern at Pan American Health Organization in Washington city. There he mapped the performance of Latin American Regulatory Autorithies regarding medical devices with the aim to develop health technology quality indicators. Also, he has contributed in winning 3 medical devices projects and has a deep interest in the design & development of innovative orthopedical and cardiovascular implants.

Sandra Araiza Cruz – Design Engineer

B. Eng. Biomedical Engineering – University of Arizona
Sandra is an honor student at the University of Arizona studying Biomedical Engineering, where she emphasizes in biomechanics. She worked as an intern research in a Human Movement and Biomechanics Laboratory at University Medical Center focusing in ankle fractures and different fixation methods. She was also part of a Biophysics Laboratory at the University of Arizona, where she developed great 3D imaging skills using different types of microscopes. Moreover, she has experience in Solidworks and 3D printing. Her passion is working with the design and manufacture of medical devices.
